Husband got a good job and they stop my tax credit? Is this fair?

i did my tax credit returns and because my husband has had a promotion they have stopped my credit completely! I didnt get much in the first place. It is just so unfair! I know there are millions of people worse off than me etc etc, and i should be grateful my husband keeps us comfortable but it is so unjust that we are taxed to death because he works hard for his money. If i threw him out, sat on my backside and claimed benefits we would be quids in! It is just not right and i feel angry about this. what are they spending my money on?!
