My fish seems dead but it's alive! How?!?

they're probably in shock from the cold water, and have less energy to swim around, if a fish or frog is in shock they can appear dead and lifeless but they are alive they re almost in a state of being temporarily paralyzed, try getting a heater for your fish if you can or relocating them to a warmer location, its not healthy to have fish in a cold place plus it can stress them out and cause them to get ill or die
